Ever open Instagram, stare at the blank screen, and think, “I have nothing to post”?
You’re not alone.
Here’s the trick I give to small-town business owners: just pick one of these 5 post types to rotate through. Easy, effective, and it takes the pressure off.
1. Show Off a Product or Service
Take a quick photo or video of:
A new arrival
Your most popular item
A behind-the-scenes peek at how it’s made or packaged
📸 Tip: Natural light is your best friend. Snap by a window!
2. Answer a Common Question
Think about what people ask you all the time:
“What time do you open?”
“How does this treatment work?”
“Can I book online?”
Turn your answer into a simple reel, a story, or a graphic post.
3. Introduce Yourself or Your Team
New customers don’t know you yet, a quick “Hi, I’m [Name] and here’s what we do” post builds trust fast.
Bonus points for a fun fact or personal touch!
4. Share a Local Moment
Highlight a customer, event, or beautiful day in Powell River.Even a photo of your morning coffee with a caption like “Powell River mornings hit different ☀️” makes your feed feel warm and local.
5. Post a Tip or Trick
If you know something helpful, share it!
Styling tips if you run a boutique
Skin care advice if you sell beauty products
Seasonal reminders (like “don’t forget to hydrate after your sunbed session!”)
Remember: It doesn’t need to be perfect; just helpful, honest, and a little you.
